Opening remarks

Abstract

The foreword outlines the conceptual directions for the development of criminalistics in the context of digital transformation, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, and emerging global security threats. It substantiates the need to reconsider traditional criminalistic approaches in response to the changing nature of evidentiary information, the growing importance of digital traces, electronic evidence, metadata, and automated analytical tools. The author emphasizes that the implementation of digital technologies must be based on the principles of scientific validity, procedural admissibility, objectivity, and the protection of human rights. Particular attention is paid to the importance of international scientific cooperation, the advancement of criminalistic methodology, and the enhancement of criminalistic support for combating cybercrime, documenting war crimes, and ensuring the effective administration of criminal justice in the digital era.
