Экзистенциальная концепция глобализации Х. Буде и Й. Дюршмидта

Abstract

У статті розглядається екзистенціальна концепція глобалізації німецьких соціологів Х. Буде та Й. Дюршмідта. Аналізується критика "потокового мейнстріму" в сучасній теорії глобалізації та його парадигмальні недоліки - надмірний акцент на проблемах просторовості, мобільності, детериторіалізації і безмежності. Представлені основні положення екзистенціального повороту в теорії глобалізації, які включають проблеми приналежності, вибору, відповідальності і ритмічності соціальних відносин. Стверджується необхідність включення концепції Х. Буде та Й. Дюршмідта в загальну структуру екзистенціальної соціології.

В статье рассматривается экзистенциальная концепция глобализации немецких социологов Х. Буде и Й. Дюршмидта. Анализируется критика “потокового мейнстрима” в современной теории глобализации и его парадигмальные недостатки – чрезмерный акцент на проблемах пространственности, мобильности, детерриториализации и безграничности. Представлены основные положения экзистенциального поворота в теории глобализации, которые включают проблемы принадлежности, выбора, ответственности и ритмичности социальных отношений. Утверждается необходимость включения концепции Х. Буде и Й. Дюршмидта в общую структуру экзистенциальной социологии.

Paper discusses the sociological conception of globalization of German sociologists H. Bude and J. Durrschmidt. Criticism of "flow speak" in the modern theory of globalization is analyzed by consideration of its paradigmatic flaws - excessive emphasis on the problems of spatiality, mobility, deterritorialization and unlimitness. There is presentation of main aspects of the existential turn in the theory of globalization, which include problems of belonging, choice, responsibility and rhythmicity of social. The formulation of the problem based on the assertion that in the past two decades the theory of globalization has become a major sociological theory in the study of modern society. In terms of institutionalization of globalization theory arises a certain effect of slowing its development, and making new researches of globalization issues relevant. Bude and Durschmidt made ambitious attempt to revise the theory of globalization, arguing that the key problems and limitations of this theory are the so-called "rhetoric of global flows" or "flow speak" and "flattened", one-dimensional ontology. The main idea of this view is the shift of perspective from excessive emphasis on mobility and deterritorialization to "existential turn". As a symbolic example of main idea German authors present a phenomenological image of "homecomer" (A. Schutz), who embodies the ambivalence of simultaneous commitment to a global perspective and constant fidelity to social connections. The essence of the existential turn in the theory of globalization, in their view, is a deeper, phenomenological examination of the globalization process as "a way of being-in-the-world". Arguing about the necessity of existential revision of globalization, German sociologists are inclined to the position that the theory of globalization has slowed and even stopped its development. However, rather than abandon this theory, it needs reorientation towards existential perspective, which is ignored by its "flow speak" disembodied from the material and institutional context of global culture reproduction. This "flow speak" hypertrophied mobility problems and deterritorialization, thus created "disembodied" model of social practices. If the study of globalization methodologically will be based on the existential reality of individuals, the focus of this study should be forwarded to "lived selectivity" or that fact that the irreversibility of life imposes restrictions on the possibilities of global flows. Existential conception of globalization by Bude and Durschmidt can’t be stated as complete and systematic. Nevertheless it is one of the first attempts at a constructive and reasoned criticism of the theory of globalization. There is also strong need for integration of this conception to the general framework of existential sociology (Californian school, M. Bolle de Bal), which is one of the most relevant approaches to the analysis of modern society.
